Welcome to the Zoom Community, @Lawyer.

When you say “company phone”, do you mean the number listed at Admin -> Phone System Management -> Phone Numbers as the Main Company Number?

See this Zoom Support article:

Here’s a screen shot of one of the FAQs:

It’s not possible to have SMS inbound or outbound service on the Main Company Number.

If you’re referring to other phone numbers of your phone plan, are you talking about a number assigned to a staff member? Or a number assigned to something else?

thanks, I was referring to the main company number.

Still, anyone can send an SMS to the main company number (which is not blocked for SMS) and there are no replies back informing the person that the message was not received, clients may feel ignored. Is there a way to block completely the main company number from receiving messages where clients  receive some error or unsent notification?

assuming you have enabled sms for the company phone, you will see the sms on your zoom client or mobile app under phone->sms.

here is a screen shot of a sms received on windows client

hi lawyer,

ray is correct.

i tried sending a sms from my t-mobile cell to my company number associated with my main auto receptionist.  i did not receive it.  unlike sms to other cell phones, i did not get a "delivered".

thanks,  eliot

@Lawyer: Our previous answers notwithstanding (see how I tossed in a mostly-legal term there?)… @Eliot and I are having a side-bar (again with the legal jargon!) discussion on possible workarounds for this. Stay tuned!

[Clearly I watch too much Boston Legal.  And I was a small claims hearing officer for a few years.]

HI Ray, curious if you came up with a work around. Am I correct that the official way to receive sms on the 'main company number' would be with the power pack add-on which allows for team sms?

@CMyzoomphone, that's my understanding... but it's a stretch outside my Zoom Phone comfort zone.

Hopefully @Eliot can pop in and provide an answer -- he's my go-to phone guru!
