Are there any plans for introduction a recording limit for each user ie 3Gb? We think that this will help to manage the amount of recordings being done by users. If the user gets near the limit then they will be prompted to move the recordings to another location.
That's a great question. Currently all paid licenses have a limit on cloud recording storage, except for Enterprise licenses that have unlimited storage. The limits are noted in our support article (https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360060661511), as well as a notation of the email that is sent to the account owner when usage is at 80% of the subscribed storage limit. Hopefully this answers your question.
I am a Zoom admin at a University and I would be hesitant to deal with limits based on space. Your example of 3gb does not happen often for us, but it does happen. Being forced to move it off the Zoom cloud in this situation would cause issues with our processes and faculty ease of use. Adding another layer of things they would have to worry about would not set well with them. I think it is a good idea, but it would need to be very flexible to keep from being a problem in our situation.
we have 3 zoom licenses. today, we record the sessions in the cloud, download it, compress it and upload to our course platform. we would like to have our own solution for storing videos right here in the zoom, and not need to move and compress, just link them to our course platform. another request: allow to configure to record with lower quality, creating smaller video files.
