At our meetings we have one participant who was born deaf and uses a cochlear implant. She can benefit from Live Transcription. I learned how to enable Live Transcription, but the default view seems to be to show the transcription to everyone. This would require everyone at the meeting who does not require a transcription to turn off the service. Is there a way to change the default view to hide the transcription, and require an action on the part of the participants to show it?
Thanks,
Jack

Steps to enable Live Transcription so that default view is transcription hidden are given below-
Sign in to the Zoom desktop client.
Join a meeting or webinar.
When enabled by the host, you will see a notification informing you that one of these services is available.
If closed captioning is available, click Closed Caption , then select Show Subtitle
If live transcription is available, click Live Transcript , then select Show Subtitle.
If enabled, you can also click View Full Transcript to view the transcript in the side panel of the meeting.
Request the host to enable live transcription
If live transcription is not enabled, but you would like it to be, you can request the host enable for this meeting without interrupting them directly.
Click Live Transcript . You will be prompted to confirm your request to have live transcription enabled by the host.
(Optional) Click Ask Anonymously to make this request without your name tied to it. The host will just be notified that a participant in the meeting would like this feature enabled.
Click Request to confirm. If the host approves the request, live transcription will begin.
This may help you,

Hi @jack1147
Right now, its an all or nothing setting, but there are some enhancements coming for live transcription that will make this easier to control on an individual level.

... and I usually say something like, "I'm about to start the live captioning feature of Zoom. If you don't want to see the captions, click on the Live Transcript button at the bottom of your screen (or it might be in the More... button) and click the Hide Subtitle menu item." 15 seconds of user education. 👍
