Audio Signal Not Getting Through

How is it possible that an audio signal, registering on the vu graphs on the computer (Mac - Sequoia 15.3) audio input cannot be recognized by Zoom?  This is the signal coming from a Focusrite interface.  There is signal at the computer input and signal going in to Logic Pro... but not Zoom (6.3.6) The device does show up as an option for input in Zoom, and permissions are set correctly.

I posed the question a long time ago, after having spent hours with AI tech support and a human or two.   Doesn't someone from Zoom have an idea what might be the problem?  Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi @Altb - Welcome to the Zoom Community. To better assist, I have a couple of questions. Could you please tell me a little bit about what you're trying to do with this setup? Are you trying to record music into Zoom, or are you using it for something like online teaching? Kindly provide your specific use case.

Also, have you had this setup successfully before? If so, what has changed since then?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi, Eileen. Thank you for the response. What I am trying to do is utilize a higher quality audio set up for my Zoom voice. Very simple. I use a higher end microphone and tube pre-amplification to get the signal into the Focusrite Scarlet which inputs to the computer via USB.  It works 100% and sounds quite good in logic And I wanted that quality of sound in zoom.  I wanted that quality of sound in Zoom.

I am not sure if it ever worked. I have a vague recollection of seeing some evidence of a signal on the zoom mic test, but that was so long ago (just a week or so but it feels like forever) and I haven’t ever seen it since. I have removed zoom with great attention to detail and reloaded a fresh copy.

I did attempt to use a program, called Black hole to create a routing that might solve the problem, but it didn’t help.  I cannot remember if that was my first effort or something I did along the way.

I am happy to provide as much information as you think might be helpful, so please let me know. I’m very appreciative of your effort!

Aileen - I am not sure if my last post got to you or not, but I answered your questions.  Did you receive it?  In any event, I have solved the problem by setting up a loopback app, Blackhole.  Blackhole takes either the output of the Scarlet or the output of logic, which I am using as a live console, and runs it into Zoom.  This works.  Strange.

Hah, that is not all...The various audio options on Zoom have now been added to to include 'Live performance audio BETA'. I have also found that when engaging Original sound for musicians to remove their awful noise suppression this now randomly reverts back to noise suppression on again even though the icon states that this is not the case. I always worry when I see the word Beta being used, this basically means untested. I cannot rely on Zoom at the moment for clear audio during my Funeral Live Stream meetings as I need to have background sounds heard such as people singing in a church!!
