So, Zoom thinks they can quietly dip into your account for a subscription renewal without warning. Has this happened to you and they refused to refund you? You’re not alone. Don’t let them get away with it.
Here's what you can do:
1. Call your bank immediately and dispute the charge.
2. Request a chargeback and have your bank block any further charges if they won’t cooperate.
3. Share your experience here so we can keep track of how many are affected.
If enough of us hit them at once, maybe they’ll learn that shady business comes with consequences. Let’s hold them accountable.

Yes, this happened to me. I did not receive any subscription renewal notification although according to their contract wording (which I did not receive) it states: 14.1 Term; Automatic Renewal:
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of the current term unless written notice of cancellation is provided at least thirty (30) days before the renewal date, or as otherwise required by law. Notice must be submitted through the billing portal or via email to ***********. We also send reminder notifications in accordance with legal requirements, when applicable.
They do not say when reminder notifications will be issued just that they might which is ambiguous to say the least! I contacted my bank while the transaction was still pending but was told that it would go through and I would need to first contact Zoom. I have done that and they have advised it is their policy not to issue refunds. I will be disputing the charge through VISA.

Yes. Definitely dispute through Visa and I’d also request through Visa to block Zoom from charging your account in the future. Please inform us of how things work out.

This also happened to me. I was charged without a notice. I cancelled it the minute I got the notice and also blocked the payment when it was still pending. Zoom has refused to refund me. I have health issues and I need the money to pay for an emergency procedure. They still refused to refund me. Zoom did not send a notice, an email, anything. All they said they could do was to turn off the auto renewal for 2026. I don't use a Zoom account at home in 2025. I have an account at work that they pay for. I will continue to dispute the unreasonable charge.

The more people dispute, the more it will work in our favor. Please inform us of how things work out.

Hope you get some satisfaction. I am still exchanging emails. Still trying to get clarification on when they send subscription renewal notifications.

I called my banks and so far it seems as if it went in my favor, but Zoom will not give you the refund from them. Just dispute with your banks

Same happened to me - auto renewal - and then less than a week later I filled out a form on line to request refund - initial response just a standard - "it's our policy to auto renew and if you cancel - you will have paid for the full next year." I followed up with a please refund - no response - then I disputed the charge with my credit card company. I have not used the service on this account for many months. And certainly didn't use it in the last week. This billing practice is nothing but fraudulent and guaranteed they keep a lot of people's money .

Because I had not informed Zoom of my new updated credit card, they cancelled me in a very clear notice that my use had been suspended. Fine. I was ready to leave Zoom; I took my business elsewhere. No need for ME to cancel -- they had cancelled me!
And then, I got a notice that they had reinstated me. They have some sneaky means of finding the numbers in an updated credit card, which should be illegal, and they had the gall to charge me on it without any authorization. So I protested and in a series of communications have repetitively been told all I can do is cancel in the next billing cycle and kiss my $159.90 goodbye. Which I do not intend to do even if I have to go to Small Claims Court. What an unethical practice. "Theft" would be the appropriate word. They could have inquired if I wanted to renew. Didn't happen.

The practice of assuming an automatic renewal on a 1 year plan is pretty hideous. Marking something as on a recurring monthly payment is completely different from a 1 year plan.
On a notice of renewal, I asked that the plan be cancelled. I had not logged in for months. They cancellation was ignored. They tried to hit up paypal multiple times and paypal charged to a debit card that zoom was not authorized to charge against after multiple attempts to cancel
paypal is cleaning up the mess, I think. I got to contest a fraudulent charge against a new debit card number that did not exist a year ago.
Paypal and zoom have really let me down.
Paypal has caused issues multiple times this year to the point of forcing a bank to change a cc number

Yep - it isnt good practice to assume I wanted to auto-renew. more worryingly the comms say you can cancel auto-renew - but NO INSTRUCTIONS anywhere as to how to do it. Zoom - please tell me how to cancle to Auto-Renew. Thank you
