Thanks for your message. I updated to the latest version and gave permissions to the app but it still does not work. I connect from a macbook air. Could you tell me what other settings to take into account?

I'm sorry for the delayed response. You may try these troubleshooting steps:
1. Use the correct screen sharing method
Click Share Screen
Select the window or screen you want to share
Make sure to check the box "Share sound" at the bottom left before clicking Share
Avoid sharing a browser tab with sound unless you select "Chrome Tab" share if available (Zoom can be picky with tab audio sometimes)
2. Check your audio devices and settings
In Zoom, go to Settings > Audio
Under Speaker, pick your default audio device (e.g., your headphones or speakers)
Try toggling “Automatically adjust microphone volume” off/on to see if it helps
Also, test your speaker using the Test Speaker button
3. Disable “Allow applications to take exclusive control” on your sound device (Windows)
This often solves weird audio-cut problems:
Right-click the speaker icon in the system tray → Sounds
Go to the Playback tab → select your active device → Properties
Go to the Advanced tab → uncheck Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device
Click OK and restart Zoom
4. Try using "Share computer sound" with "Optimize for video clip."
When sharing screen, in the lower left, besides Share Sound, also check Optimize for video clip
This setting helps smooth playback of videos and audio.
5. If you’re using Bluetooth headphones or external devices
Sometimes Bluetooth devices have issues with audio sharing:
Try switching to wired headphones or built-in speakers and test again
Alternatively, try disconnecting and reconnecting the audio device

Hi, I also have this issue. I had updated Zoom before the session. I was using the Zoom App on a Windows 11 HP Laptop.
I had to undertake a 30 mins training session today in order to pass my assessment. I shared my screen correctly, and I could share my PDF Welcome slides. However, when I went to share a video URL (from a Google Tab), I had no audio at all. I checked that "sharing sound" was switched on. For the second video which was an .MP4 file on my desktop same deal, the video plays but there is no audio sound.
I had to try and talk my tutors through the videos, which was really unsatisfactory. The most worrying thing is I may not pass my assessment now.
In talking with other students in our college, nearly 95% of our class all had issues and noone could get it to work.
I have more sessions to submit in order to pass my accreditation. I don't wish to have this issue again.
Given the number of searches I found with people all having the same issue, seems this is known problem which I"m hoping has been addressed. Can someone please send me the solution?
I'm quite tech savvy so this is very frustrating that such a simple feature is problematic.
Thanks
Annie
