During a meeting , is there a way for the assistant to recognize and distinguish between the voices of participants who are in the same place and using the same computer? In other words, can it distinguish between the voices of participants?

Hi Stephanenatkin,

Zoom itself doesn’t have built-in voice recognition to distinguish between multiple participants who are using the same device in the same location. If multiple people are sharing a single computer during a meeting, Zoom will typically treat them as a single participant, regardless of how many different voices are speaking.

I suggest that Zoom or a third party develop a feature whereby all participants in a co-located Zoom meeting identify themselves vocally at the beginning of the meeting. This would enable voice recognition AI to know who said what in the transcript and minutes.
This feature would be very useful for three reasons: With an omnidirectional microphone, a single connection could be used per site because, on the one hand, not everyone necessarily has a computer, and when there are multiple connections in the same room, managing the microphones to avoid feedback is complicated. Finally, we often use Zoom in video conference rooms with a single camera covering the room and an omnidirectional microphone, so it is really designed for a single connection per site.
