we are a group of which some have been receiving a zoom meeting every week for years; it's a bug and we don't know how to get rid of it?

Most likely someone sent out a Zoom Meeting in a calendar entry (Outlook or Google calendar). Look for the Meeting in a calendar at the time you are being told the Zoom meeting is planned. Zoom will only remind you of meetings that are still active in Zoom.
