Did you mean:

audio & video are not in sync on both laptop and phone for my zoom account.

There is a weird split second delay where my audio and video are not in sync.  This is for both my laptop and my phone, so it's not an issue with a device.  It's a zoom issue.  Has anyone else experienced this issue?  If so, how did you resolve it?

I have exactly the same issue.  It happens in different locations and on different networks.  Also when I switch to Teams or Google Meet I don't have this issue.

Actually, as a broadcast and audio/video engineer I can tell you that it is NOT a Zoom issue. A/V sync is usually caused by two things. 1. Insufficient bandwidth often caused by using WiFi. 2. Insufficient processing power in the device.

I manage 7 enterprise accounts and a Pro account with systems that use separate video and audio streams that must be combined for Zoom broadcast. For these systems an audio delay is required and is different for different network configurations and different camera sources when the same audio hardware device type is being used. What device is hosting the meeting? Are you using one device to host and another device to monitor? Is someone else hosting the audio and video? Is the sync off live or just in a recording? Still missing a lot of information about how this experience has been created.

Typically on a Microsoft Surface Windows laptop with latest OS. Sometimes on an Apple iPad and iPhone 16 with up to date OS. Usually only happens when I use my account for scheduled Zoom.  If I join someone else’s Zoom call I don’t have the issue. Also happens when I am not on home network and in a hotel. If I switch to Google Meet or Teams the issue goes away on the same laptop and the same network

Your experience just confirms that this is most likely an internet bandwidth issue. If you JOIN someone else's meeting you are seeing and hearing streams using download bandwidth. In a hotel internet bandwidth is WiFi and mainly dependent on distance from your device to the access point and can easily drop bandwidth below 3Mbps. Just because it appears to go away with Google Meet or Teams does not mean that the problem is with Zoom. If you are the Host of the meeting your device uses more computer resources and uses primarily upload bandwidth for your audio and video. Most windows laptops have very poor WiFi radios for receiving and transmitting the radio signal and that radio signal competes with other users who may be using the same system via spread spectrum. IOS devices also have poor Wifi range, but sometimes they may do better than a Windows laptop. However, that does not mean that one device is better than the other. Often adding an external WiFi radio to a laptop can improve the radio signal, but it may not resolve bandwidth because there are still other factors that affect bandwidth. Wifi requires that the signal leaving the laptop to be encoded for WiFi then decoded at the access point. This process can introduce all kinds of instability. It may work most of the time, but it is not the most stable way to connect to the internet for low latency a/v streaming.
