Weird sound behaviour

I need to input two sound streams to Zoom.   I am using a 4 channel mixer to input a microphone and output from a morse code oscillator.

The two streams are mixed as expected and in the Mac audio settings both audio streams work as expected

However, in Zoom,  only the microphone is detected.  The tone channel isn't heard.   Exactly the same settings on another Mac work as expected.

I have selected the "Original sound for musicians" profile

As an audio and broadcast engineer I can tell you that computer audio can be very complicated. Here is insight to setting up original sound.

Note that original sound has to be turned on in 2 places. Don't forget to click the Original Sound for Musicians button to toggle this on or off in the top-left corner of the meeting window for the desktop client. Also, check your OS for audio enhancements and be sure they are turned off.

On multi-input interfaces Zoom will use the first 2 inputs as a pair. Try reversing the inputs to be sure something else is not blocking the morse code tones.

Be sure that no noise suppression is on in Zoom or the OS.

Thanks.  It now works.  I enabled "Original Sound" in both  places and now it's OK.   Shame the settings dont persist.

If you were using a PC you could make registry changes that would make original sound persist. Apple does not provide such a feature. Apple uses a property list which does not support making the setting persistent.

Thanks,  that looks as if it will be really useful.  I will try the recommendations over the weekend and let you know how I get on.   I won't accept as solution yet so the thread stays open in case others have anything to add.
Just to give you some background,  I am a Ham Radio operator and am attending a Zoom group to improve our Morse Code skills.   Believe it or not,  Morse Code is very much still alive and kicking in the Amateur radio community.   My setup uses a microphone for speech and a direct connection to a radio which generates the radio morse tones.   The two sets of audio are mixed in a small 4 channel mixer which is connected to my Mac via USB.  The mixed audio is available as a single audio  source in the Mac.   I have also tried connecting the mixer output to the Mac using a 3.5mm audio cable.  At the Mac Settings level,  both the microphone and morse audio are detected OK.   They also work fine with other sound apps eg Garage Band.  However, in neither case does the Morse component of the audio appear in Zoom.  Presumably it is being filtered out as some sort of unwanted interference.
