Using Zoom on Chromebooks

Hi.

I am having trouble using Zoom on my Acer Chromebook.

Currently I have both the Zoom app and Zoom Cloud Meetings for Chrome extension.

Which one should I use please?

The sort of problems i seem to have is with High CPU Quality affecting the sound quality , as well with bandwidth.

When on in a meeting, my sound seems to be made mute except when i am speaking.

Does any one have any ideas or any way to help me please?

Thank you

    Hi @seeknp

Since the ChromeOS app is being deprecated sometime next year (the Chrome team is phasing out Chrome Apps from their platform), I would really recommend using the Zoom Web Client, which already has more features and functionality than the ChromeOS app. This may improve your CPU usage, but I cannot say for sure.

Hope that helps and please make sure to mark the solution as accepted if this information is what you needed.

Hey my niece has a crappy old Windows laptop, and I was considering converting it to a Chrome Book using ChromeOS Flex. but she's weary of using ChromeOS because of Zoom.
The default (old) Zoom app for ChromeOS, as well as the new Zoom - For Chrome (PWA) are both great for video calls, but both lack 1 critical feature.
During Zoom meetings there's an "in meeting chat" that works great. but her and all her friends use the "Zoom Chat" (or external chat -not in meeting) to communicate all the time with her friends about everything, but both the default (old) Zoom & the new Zoom PWA don't contain this chat feature.

    1. Is there anyway to add external Zoom chat (not in meeting) to the Zoom PWA app?

    2. How do I download the Android Zoom app (Zoom Cloud Meeting) ,in which the external Zoom chat works great, on my Chromebook?
As when I go to the app store it says my device is not compatible, even though ChromeOS can run android apps which is what Zoom Cloud Meeting is?

    Thank you very much!

Hello. I was curious if anyone of you are using chromebooks? it looks like zoom for chromebook doesn't have features for online music school such as "original sound" resulting in problems for the teacher.  My children are using chromebooks. Anyone with workarounds? thank you.

Hello. Hope you are all well. I have been using Zoom for Windows without issues for quite some time, with one participant using Chome PWA on her Chromebook. Everything was fine until recently. She can hear and see me, but I can't see her, although I can hear her. Recently when I invited another participant, I could suddenly see the video of the first participant. I don't know why this is happening. She also mentioned that below her video, the controls menu, has no audio or video controls. Originally, she used to have those. Now her control menu starts with "participant"... Can anyone help? Thank you.
