Unable to Keep Two Zoom Sessions Open on Desktop and Laptop Anymore

Hi everyone,

 

I used to be able to keep two Zoom sessions open at the same time — one on my desktop computer and one on my laptop.
But recently, whenever I log into Zoom on one device, the session on the other device gets disconnected automatically.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, or know if Zoom has changed its policy or settings regarding simultaneous logins?

Hi Dupthomas, 

 

By default, existing users can be signed in to Zoom on 2 desktop computers, 2 tablets, and 2 mobile devices at a time. If you sign in to more than 2 devices of the same type, you will be automatically logged out of the first device.

Admins on eligible accounts can increase this limit for users on their account, allowing users to be signed in to 2 devices of the same type concurrently. For example, if you allow users to sign in to 2 devices of the same type concurrently, they will be able to sign in to a maximum of 2 desktop computers, 2 tablets, and 2 mobile devices at the same time.

 

How to enable additional concurrent sign-ins

To enable or disable concurrent sign-ins for all users in the account:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Advanced then Security.
  3. Under Sign-in Methods, click the Allow users to login on multiple devices concurrently toggle to enable or disable it.
  4. Next to Select the max number of devices allowed, click the drop-down menu to select the number of concurrent devices, then click Save.

When enabled, admins can choose 2 concurrent devices, and when disabled, users can be signed in to Zoom on only one desktop computer, one tablet, and one mobile device at a time.

Hi, I don’t see the "Allow users to login on multiple devices concurrently" option under "Sign-in Methods".
Has it been moved, removed, or is it only available on certain account types?

I have the same problem as Dupthomas.

Since few weeks ago, I cannot hold an open session in Zoom desktop (the installed zoom on windows computer) on 2 computers - my desktop work computer and my laptop. It keeps "kicking" me out of the laptop session when I log in on my work desktop computer and viceversa. So it does not allow 2 "desktop" sessions anymore as it was before. This started at a point in time in the last 4 weeks and is frustrating. This multisession Zoom functionality (for 2 devices) was a key feature when deciding about choosing Zoom to replace the discontinued Skype for me. And now it is a problem.

 

I went into the workplace (your link) through the browser to follow the instructions you gave for setting things, but I cannot find a "Security" menu/option anywhere in the menus. So there is no possibility to implement your points 3. and 4. above. I am the admin of my Zoom account, I created it myself.

 

So did Zoom change something in their systems about this "2-same-sessions" possibility and going to only one-session-per-type or do I miss something in the menus?

Please help. It is an important thing for my daily work processes.
