I have been ask to be a Zoom “Host” for a small group 20 participants.
In the past, I have been on many meetings where they display (screen share) a sort of “Welcome to the Meeting” PowerPoint slide. So as participants are coming into the Zoom meeting all that they see is this PowerPoint slide. Once the Host is ready to begin, the screen shared PowerPoint slide is “stopped” and all the participant screens are displayed either in Gallery view or Speaker view. At Breaks, another Screen shared, PowerPoint slide goes up and the participant screens are hidden again until the screen share is stopped.
How do you hide the participants when you share a screen? What are the settings and steps to accomplish this?

Hello @Carolyny , Thank you for posting to the Zoom Comunity!
This feature is called a waiting room and it can be customized in many different ways. The Waiting Room feature allows the host to control when a participant joins the meeting. As the meeting host, you can admit attendees one by one or hold all attendees in the waiting room and admit them all at once.
Here is a link to our support site with more information: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360022174112-Using-a-Waiting-Room-with-Zoom-Rooms
And here is a great video showing how to use and customize your waiting room:

@SeanGaines dont the participants also require client version 5.4.0 or higher in order to see the powerpoint or video? Also during breaks this is not relevant.
@Carolyny You can share screen and use the Spotlight feature. Participants can ofcourse change the view back to galery while you are in share screen.
Or you can check out the new feature of Focus Mode https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360061113751-Focus-mode-
