On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Problem Scheduling Zoom Meetings

When I send a calendar meeting invite, Zoom has an issue in that neither / both I and the invitee can get into the meeting.

For both of us, it says "Waiting for Host to start the meeting", even though I am clearly the Organiser on the calendar invite.

I do not have this problem if I am the invitee.

Further, this problem only occurs on my work account and only with Zoom, not any other platform.

Hi @RossMV

Sounds like you may not be signed-in to your Zoom account on the desktop client, which is why the Zoom system cannot recognize you as the host and allow you to start the meeting. This can be fixed by either a) signing in to your Zoom account on the desktop client, or b) changing your default meeting settings so that join before host is enabled, which would allow the meeting to start with you being signed-in or not.
