Import event message when scheduling

I am having trouble with scheduling meetings. I use the drop-down box to enter the date, time, and attendee, but when I go to the next page I get a message that asks if I want to Import Event. There is nowhere to go from there. My attendees are not getting the invite.

Hey @lrussell731,

Thank you for sharing your concern. The issue with scheduling meetings in Outlook and receiving the "Import Event" message with no option to send invites suggests a problem with the user interface or the meeting creation process.

1. You might doing an Incorrect Meeting Creation Process:
  • Issue:
The "Import Event" message likely appears when Outlook is trying to import a meeting from a file, not when creating a new one. You might be accidentally triggering this import function instead of creating a new event.
  • Solution:
Ensure you are correctly initiating a new meeting. In Outlook, this usually involves selecting "New Meeting" (or a similar option) from the calendar view and then adding attendees and details.
  • Note:
Ensure you're not trying to import a file or using an "Import" button instead of creating a new event.

2. User Interface/Outlook Version Issues:
  • Issue:
Sometimes, outdated Outlook versions or interface glitches can lead to unexpected behavior. The "Import Event" message might be displayed improperly or the "Send" button might be hidden.

  • Solution:
    • Update Outlook: Ensure Outlook is updated to the latest version. Go to File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now.

    • Repair Outlook Installation: If updating doesn't help, try repairing the Outlook installation (Start menu > Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Locate Microsoft Office > Modify > Repair).

    • Check for Updates: Ensure any relevant add-ins or extensions are also up to date, as they might interfere with the scheduling process.

    We hope that this helps!
