How to open a .zoom file

A client sent me a zipped file from a recording he made of a recent meeting. When I open the archive I get 3 files.

2 .zoom files

1 .tag file

The .zoom files say "Double click to convert" - When I double click an conversion window/progress bar opens, but it never moves and never completes conversion.

I'm using Linux operating system.

First of all - can I open a .zoom file from someone else that was not generated in my account OR should he convert the file before sending it to me?

Maybe it's just a problem with Linux?

Any thoughts?

Hey @stpaultim, see if these steps from Plusmid's Blog help on converting .zoom files on Ubuntu/Linux

1) Open a console and type in the command /opt/zoom/zoomlinux followed by the path to the first zoom file you want to convert. You can insert a file path at the text cursor position by dragging the file into the terminal window. Confirm the command by pressing enter.

2) Converting process of the file(s).

3) When it is done, the window will close. Now you can find the converted files in the folder the original .zoom files were in.
