Can I make someone a cohost in the invitation before the meeting begins?

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

No... co-hosts can only be designated by the host, from within a running meeting.

I need similar solution. I've been using ZOOM for years, licensed Pro account.

I host a weekly Hybrid meeting with 4-6 or so meeting at my home + 1-2 on ZOOM. If I can't attend in person (like next week's meeting) how can we do this if I can't make another regular attendee as co-host prior to the event, so he can run the ZOOM Meeting in my place with everyone attending via ZOOM?

The other options I see could be:

1. Cancel the meeting for everyone - undesirable & unfair on everyone else.

2. Start the meeting 5-6 hours early before I leave home, & leave my computer running in my absense - that's just silly.

3. Give my friend my ZOOM account & password to 'be me' from his home - I doubt you'd like that security breach!

Happy to know a workable solution please. It will likely occur more often in future.

Take a look at this document regarding Host Key.

I have changed my settings to include cohost, but it's not listed as an option when scheduling or editing the meeting. Am I missing something?
