Changing image on shared screen does not change for other paricipants

When sharing my screen to display a series of still images, I often encounter a situation where I change to a new image, but other participants still see the previous one. Refreshing my screen by minimizing and restoring sometimes seems to trigger a change for the other users, but sometimes not. This problem occurs regardless of what application I am using to show the images. I have not seen this issue when others are displaying their images, so I suspect it's somehow related to my system or Zoom connection.

 

Any idea what's causing this and what to do about it?
