Cannot use contacts as attendees when scheduling a meeting?

Hello! I recently began to use zoom to schedule meetings regularly, but I have noticed that when typing in the 'attendee' field to schedule a meeting, there's no option to just choose from my actual contacts list or autofill. Given how often we hold the meetings and the amount of people, it's a bit tedious to copy/paste each individual email address.

Given how common a feature autofilling contacts is, how do I do this on my Zoom account?

I already have contacts saved in my personal contacts list, but that doesn't seem to do anything.

Yes . Having the exact same issue ... the contacts do NOT seem to be integrated into  attendees

Agreed!

Is there no way for Zoom to allow contacts in the personal contacts group to appear in the attendees field?

Have to say that when I encountered this issue I thought it was me but I'm no seeing this thread and am rather shocked at what I see as such a basic function not in place. I added a few contacts to my Personal Contacts in Zoom and fully expected them to become available when I scheduled a meeting but no, nothing comes up, not even previously entered attendees in other invitations. This is such a pain. Google is simply integrated.

When scheduling meetings Zoom used to regularity add the contacts when I started typing their name or their email address. It suddenly stopped doing that. Even when I have been diligent to add contacts directly to my Zoom account, it no long does it and I need my phone to look up their email addresses. After I add the entire address it finally shows up. I hate typing the full address in because it's so easy to make a mistake. This is annoying and frustrating. It was a feature that I constantly used. I am unhappy.

Yes, this is frustrating. Within Zoom unfortunately the contacts are not automatically imported and so you have to type out the emails. There are a few solutions. You could type out the emails of the people you are scheduling meetings (granted can be cumbersome). You could use APIs to integrate your contacts and send Zoom invites to them. There are also a host of scheduling apps that can do this for. Looking through the Zoom marketplace, Salepager, is a scheduling app built from the Zoom meeting host's perspective.

I am  having the same problem and it doesn't look like there is a solution.  Very frustrating.  It makes creating meetings extremely cumbersome and that is a basic function of this software.

Hello!

Are you scheduling the meeting through the Zoom app or a calendar integration?

Have you heard of Zoom AI Companion?

Will the AI Companion allow the meeting scheduler to connect with my contacts list? I have Zoom Workplace Pro.

zoom app; why won't the attendees field autopopulate with my contacts?
it's an utterly useless waste of my precious time trying to make it do what it
purports to do.  has been frustrating me since I started using zoom.  please fix!

How about helping all of us who can't get around this contact bug?

I'm using the Zoom app, Carla. I've been using Zoom for a few years, and the app always auto-populated addresses from my address list ...but it stopped doing so last month 😞

!

A work around if you use Outlook is to install the Zoom add-in to Outlook and schedule the zoom call using Outlook email.  Not accepted as a solution, Zoom.  Fix this problem!

Through the zoom app

Zoom definitely needs to address the situation. It's taking far longer to schedule meetings, and I'm spending time sending multiple notices about meetings because I'm never sure that the invitation has been received!

I totally agree! Talk about a pain in the butt when trying to book meetings! Zoom needs to fix this asap if they don't want people to move to other platforms!

It is July 2024 and I’m still having this problem with not being able to auto-populate my meetings with my contacts. Does Zoom read this?  It seems so obvious that this needs to be fixed.

Hi everyone, I apologize for the delay in response.

Currently, if you are scheduling via the Zoom app, when beginning to type the email address under the Attendees block it should auto-populate the email if the contact is under Contacts in your Zoom app. If this is not the case, can you please try uninstalling Zoom, restarting your device, and then reinstalling to the latest version?

Uninstalling and reinstalling the Zoom application

I tested this on my end and was able to see it auto-populate. Please let me know how it goes!

It is absolutely insane to me that this is even an issue with Zoom.  Such a basic 101 level feature that is missing (or not functioning correctly).  I don't understand how Zoom has gotten so much adoption when the UI for scheduling google meetings is so much better.

Has anyone actually gotten it to work by reinstalling? I highly doubt that would have any impact.

I did reinstall zoom, but it did not fix the problem

This did NOT work for me either - and there is no FAQ or community resources or anything associated with using contact lists to schedule meetings. So there is no help!

I tried contacting support directly, only to be told that my account doesn't get access to customer support.

Not pleased. I need a work around to this.

This didn’t work. Still no way to enter contacts in zoom mobile app

This is still not working for me.  I have tried in the web browser, on my phone app and my laptop app.  I've even added regular contacts to Zoom Personal Contacts.  There is no auto-population of the invitees field.  This needs to be addressed.  I regularly invite the same people to meetings.

The workaround is to copy the invite to your clipboard and paste in into an email sent to all the attendees.

Hey BellaHomes,

I totally get where you’re coming from—autofilling contacts in Zoom should be a no-brainer, right? It’s like, you’ve got everything set up for a meeting, and then bam, your contacts just decide to play hide-and-seek. I’ve been there! I once had a client who was all set to meet with their real estate agent over Zoom, and we hit the same roadblock. It’s like the tech gremlins just love messing with us when we need things to go smoothly.

So, if you’re using the Zoom app, your contacts should pop up when you start typing in the 'attendee' field. If they’re being stubborn, sometimes uninstalling and reinstalling the app does the trick. It’s like giving Zoom a fresh start to get rid of those annoying glitches. Another option is trying out scheduling apps from the Zoom marketplace, like Salepager, which might handle your contacts better. And if you’re using Outlook, the Zoom add-in can help streamline the process and make things a lot easier.

This whole situation reminds me of how important it is to have the right real estate agent—someone who just gets it and makes everything work when you need it to. Finding a good local agent is like having that go-to tech person who knows exactly how to fix things when they go sideways. We’ve got a page on my site that helps you find the right ERA Real Estate agent, someone who’s got your back and knows the ins and outs of your neighborhood.

So, while you’re sorting out the Zoom issue, why not check out the page and find an agent who can make your real estate journey just as smooth? And if Zoom keeps giving you trouble, don’t hesitate to reach out to their support team—they’re there to help, just like your local agent would be for all your home-buying or selling needs.

To: Zoom it may concern,

I am having the same problem with contacts not auto populating.  The frustrating thing is that it used to work but since the update it does not work any more.  We already pay for an account, and you want us to buy an additional application to perform this task.  I agree, this is a basic feature that was taken away and should be provided with the initial account.  Very disgusted with Zoom

this is my problem too and this is a a big problem, very very inefficient. To be honest i am wondering why I am paying for Zoom ?  Google Meet does this for free. I have given up on getting this reolved .

I agree 100%. I can't get any support from Zoom.

I think Zoom is on its way to the outdated dead software pile, joining Skype, Yellow Pages & AltaVista

Don't understand the point of the zoom contacts if it does not sync with attendees.  What is the thinking here?

yeah I am in the same boat, i dont understand why something so simple in Google can't happen here

Looks like there is no answer to this. Unbelievable. Incredibly cumbersome to have to enter the same email every week for my students and have to type in every single letter. I searched online and found this community. And then I came onto Zoom's site to search for better answers or to speak with someone. And this is the best there is: a response from Zoom 6 months later -- and that response has multiple comments saying it doesn't work.

mate i feel the same way, don't worry, they are keen to give you a special badge to say that you're contributing to the community that seems to be pretty important to them

Yeah, that's lovely. I just saw those in my email -- a badge for being a member and then another one calling me "chatty" for my first comment. Like a lollipop from the bank when I was a kid. Cute if I was in the mood for cute and didn't have anything else to do.

My current workaround. Google: "video conference alternatives to Zoom"

Unfortunately, this is still an issue late 2024. Google account is connected. I gave access to everything, including the ability to read/edit email data, just in case it needed that as well. I even created a new contact in Gmail to see if it would pull that. Not working -- nothing, nada, zilch.

I thought, maybe it's just some syncing issue between the desktop app and online version. Checked online and it still wouldn't pull the data. Only ones that I have manually added to Zoom contacts.

Btw, when under Zoom contacts it says you can sync your contacts "For Google Calendar, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Office 365, sync your contacts here." It brings me to the place showing that it has all of the permissions from my Gmail and Google Calendar. As a contract developer at another large Fortune 500, I am wondering why the hell I'm even paying for Zoom for my small business -- it's a hassle.

I'm going to just go back to using Google Meet and will stop recommending Zoom to others.

Looks like Zoom will autocomplete the contact if it is External, but not Personal. This is insane and surreal.

Ive gone back to Google Meet, and loving it, written off the annual subscription of Zoom in my tax return to my stupidity.
