On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Can we automatically open breakout rooms when meeting is created? or any workarounds?

Since I (the host) am unable to be present when the meeting starts to open breakout rooms for the participants, I would like to create a zoom meeting that will allow participants to be able to join breakout rooms without me having to be there to open them first.

Or, is it possible to give the right to every participant to open all rooms?

Thank you!

Hey, @WillS1,

Unfortunately it’s not possible to have a meeting start with Breakout Rooms already open. And it’s not feasible to give this ability to all participants.

Is there always someone there you trust who could open them on your behalf? I’m thinking the Host Key approach might help you here.

Let me know if you need more guidance on Host Key or suggestions for other approaches like Alt Host or Scheduling Privilege.
