On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

I am an alternative host on a pro account.  When I am in a meeting created by the host I am unable to create or access polls. There is no poll option.  The account owner has granted me polling permission. Help please.

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out!

As alternative host in a Zoom meeting, you have the ability to create and manage polls, provided certain conditions are met. Here's how it works:

Enabling Poll Creation for Alternative Hosts:

  1. Assigning an Alternative Host:

    • When scheduling a meeting, designate an alternative host by entering their email address in the Alternative Hosts field.
  2. Granting Poll Management Permissions:

    • Ensure that the setting Allow alternative hosts to add or edit polls is enabled (see screenshot below). This option permits alternative hosts to create and modify polls for the meeting. Settings> Meeting> In Meeting (Basic)

By configuring these settings, alternative hosts gain the ability to manage polls, enhancing meeting flexibility and collaboration.
