Privacy expectations of people signing up to a webinar?

We have a webinar set-up for next week and a set of panellists/hosts for the webinar.  Are there any privacy/GDPR issues with sharing the names of the list of people who have signed up for the webinar with the 4 panellists/hosts 'chairing' the  webinar?

Hi Janine -

You can include a disclaimer on your registration / notifications that specific information registrants supply that may be shared with the panelists / hosts. You could put it on the waiting screen (the one people see before you open up the session to attendees). You could announce it at the start of the webinar, and ask anyone who disagrees to leave.

Hi @JanineD

As @GreenMeeting_ca has said, there are at least a couple of options to show your attendees a disclaimer or other message. But to build an opt in/opt out choice, you would probably need to build some custom questions.

In my opinion, this would all depend on:

What jurisdiction you are in,

what jurisdiction your attendees are in,

whether your Panelists are part of your organization, or whether they constitute third-parties,

and for what purposes the data will be used.

Hope this helps - at least by giving you some idea.

Rupert
