How to create simulive webinar with video not in zoom

As part of our evaluation of possibly switching to zoom from gotowebinar, we recently held a 4+ hour long webinar on zoom.  The webinar went well and we want to use the recording for simulive events.  

The problem is that the video needed minor editing.  After downloading the file and making the minor edits, we attempted to upload the new file back to zoom. Can't be done because the file is (of course) larger than the 50MB limit.

If there's no method to do what we're trying here, to use edited videos of our events, that alone is likely enough for us to drop zoom.

The limit is 5GB, not 50MB - if you are seeing 50MB, you are not in the right place.

However, it's likely that a 4+ hour meeting that isn't properly compressed or exported with a variable bitrate is going to occupy more than 5GB, so read on.

Is there someone in your organization who works in video (creative/production/etc) and perhaps has a better understanding of export settings? If so, reach out to them and ask for them to transcode the file to a smaller one that's under 5GB

If not, consider some Googling on reducing video filesize. It's an oldie, but Handbrake (https://handbrake.fr/) is still a really capable piece of software for exactly this task - you'll still need to do a bit of research to pick settings that are right for you.

The file is currently just over 2.5GB; I will look into means of reducing that, but I still get the message that 50MB is the limit for uploading when I try to upload it to the Zoom Events Content Library. Is there somewhere else I should be doing the upload?

The edited file we're trying to upload is about 2.75GB, so compression might be beneficial but not necessary. Where should we be uploading other than the Content Library, which is what returns the 50mg limit error message?

Once this is done, you should have the ability to upload a recording when booking a webinar and selecting 'Simulive' -> 'Add Recording'. The option to upload will be on the bottom left of the window that pops up showing all of your existing cloud recordings. You can also try to force the upload prompt by navigating to zoom.us/recording/?supportSimuliveUpload=true
