I am currently in a Zoom Conference and only have the option for Audio Settings in the lower left corner. I have no option to mute and have no idea if I am muted automatically. In standard Zoom meetings I have the option to Mute/Unmute. Can someone help?

If the option to unmute (microphone icon) yourself is not there, then you are muted and the host has disabled the ability to unmute yourself.

Thank you! It's so confusing because microphone is still listed in the options with no indication of what's active. I checked my general settings and moved the slider for mic to off just to be sure. I'd feel much better if there was the same interface as when mic icons are shown communicating clearly that I'm muted. I've included a screenshot.

The ability to test your microphone is still there, not the ability to choose one. I think that is where the confusion comes in.

The ability to choose a Mic is available under Audio Settings/Microphone/Test Mic
The lack of symbol to advise Mic status is a major omission.

Too bad it's beyond the ability of Zoom programmers to provide a clear indicator at all times of whether or not the mic or camera are on or off at the moment, whatever variant of Zoom you're using at the moment. I guess it's too much to ask. Oh well, what could go wrong?

This here is a BINGO.
IT is absolutely RIDICULOUS for anyone at Zoom support NOT to acknowledge this blunder.
If Zoom pretends to be a real player then this will get fixed ASAP.
NOT 5 months of languishing!

I am the host! I like to control what is going on. I have want a second screen to see what is transmitted. But then this sound creates an echo that crepts into the recording. Who is responsible for this at Zoom? Let us the user decide.
