Meeting Summary Issues (Shorter and No Longer Accurate)

I was so happy and impressed with the Meeting Summary notes that Zoom's AI Companion shared after the calls this past year. However, something absolutely changed since 04/20/2025. Now, my meetings notes are much shorter and only receive 1-3 summarized paragraphs instead of the usual 7-10 that I was receiving before. Is there anything I can do to solve this issue?

@finoptimist , was this a single meeting, or does it continue to happen?

There was a brief Zoom Outage that affected Meeting Summaries that may have been around the date you mentioned.  Please confirm that this is still continuing to happen or not.  We are happy to help resolve as a one-off potentially with settings, as this is not a widespread reported issue.

I appreciate it @Josh_Stanley, it was happening for about 2 weeks or so with multiple meetings. I am so glad that it is now fixed. Thanks for letting me know about the recent outage that seemed to impact the summaries. My last summary recaps from calls in early May/2025 seem to be working properly and I am very happy. Didn't realize how awesome Zoom meeting summaries were compared to Fathom and Otter. I am very happy to be using Zoom AI Summary again.

I am still having this issue and have noted it for multiple meetings over the past ~4-6 weeks. My colleagues have experienced similar issues.

Any tips on how to resolve?

Hi Team,

I'm still facing the similar issue. Earlier, I used to receive full length summary and now it is just 1 paragraph summary. Please advise, if there is any setting I need to change?

Something has definitely changed and it hasn’t been fixed for me. The formatting changed and I have not been able to figure out how to fix it. Was really disappointed.

Hi there I too am facing the same issue. When I first started activating the AI Summary everything went well. I could receive the full summary report of few pages long until in the recent last 1 week, the summaries got shortened and cut off midway. So now each time when I run a meeting, I receive only a quarter of the full notes. Appreciate if someone can point me to the right direction to fix this?

I am experiencing the same - much shorter summaries. There is an AI option to provide more detail but that doesn't make much difference.

I use AI Companion almost every day during a recurring meeting with team members. I am finding the current version extremely frustrating. It is a flawed program. Today I corrected the spelling of a name 5 times within the meeting session and while it did correct initially, with each Catch Me Up it made the exact spelling mistake for which I had already corrected it. So not only is it not able to remember corrections from one session of a recurring meeting to another but it is unable to remember corrections within the same meeting session. This really limits the usefulness of the Zoom AI program. There should be a way to make a data list for names that are in regular usage within a recurring meeting and can be accessed and checked by the AI during a meeting. Is there a way to do this that I am missing? or if not, could this be added to the functionality of the AI please?
