Is this possible to get a transcript from MP4 recording after the meeting has ended?

If your Zoom meeting was recorded locally to your computer (not to the cloud), Zoom AI Companion cannot generate a transcript from that MP4 file after the meeting has ended. This is because local recordings do not include AI transcription capabilities. Why? Here are the reasons: 

• AI Companion's transcription feature works only with cloud recordings because the AI processes the audio/video data stored on Zoom's servers.
• Local recordings are stored directly on your computer, and Zoom does not have access to process those files for transcription after the meeting.

  If you have an MP4 recording saved locally, you can use a third-party transcription tool or software to generate a transcript. Some popular options include:

  • Otter.ai
  • Rev
  • Descript
  • Sonix

    These tools allow you to upload your MP4 file and will generate a transcript for you.
