Phantom Calendar Events Popping Up

My work team use a shared account across 5 members, and we've recently noticed we a registrant elects to add the item to their calendar, when the registrants responds (or assuming they are responding) to the calendar invites this action is sending us notifications and are showing up as an additional event on our personal calendars with us marked as a 'required' participant. Has anyone else experienced this?
