Fraudulent email?

Hello,

 

I received an email from zoom-resync-donotreply@sender. (my  website name).com and the message was:

 

Dear (my name),

The Zoom integration for (my email) (Location: MyName) has expired, leading to disconnection. As a result, video conferencing links won't be generated and synced in the application, potentially causing issues with appointments.

Please click here to login and follow these steps to resync your Zoom account:

  1. Click on the Settings button in the left navigation panel.
  2. Select My Profile and go to Integrations.
  3. Locate the Zoom option and click on the delete icon.
  4. Confirm deletion by clicking “Confirm” in the popup.
  5. Your account has been deleted.
  6. Now, click on Connect.
  7. Enter the required details and sign in to your Zoom account.


Your Zoom account is successfully resynced. "

 

I am confused because my zoom meetings have been working fine today, but mainly the email sender looks maybe fake? Can anyone clarify whether this is a legit message? Is is what they are saying to do a real thing? Thank you

All notification from Zoom should be from our main domain Zoom.us

 

Beware of fraudulent email messages that attempt to trick users into providing personal information, such as login credentials, bank details, or other sensitive data.

These fraudulent emails, often referred to as phishing emails, may look legitimate but are designed to steal your information or infect your computer with malware. They may appear to come from trusted sources, such as your bank, a colleague, or an official organization.

Please be cautious if you receive any of the following:

  • Requests for personal information or login credentials via email.
  • Urgent, alarming messages asking you to take immediate action (e.g., "Your account will be locked unless you reset your password").
  • Suspicious email addresses or unfamiliar senders, even if they seem to come from someone you know.
  • Attachments or links in emails that you weren’t expecting. Do not open these unless you are sure of the sender's identity.

How to Protect Yourself:

  1. Never share your personal information (e.g., username, password, bank account details) via email.
  2. Check the sender's email address carefully, as it may contain slight variations from legitimate addresses.
  3. Do not click on suspicious links or open attachments. If you are unsure about an email, contact the organization or person directly using known contact details.
  4. Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) on all accounts that support it for an added layer of security.
  5. Report suspicious emails to us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

If you believe you have received a fraudulent email or have accidentally shared sensitive information, please notify us immediately so we can assist in securing your account.
