Zoom private chat function ( not meeting ) not working

My zoom private chat ( not in a meeting ) isn’t working. It keeps saying invalid and I’ve tried signing in and out so many times. I don’t know what to do to fix it.

My first recommendation is to be sure you're running the latest version of Zoom. See Upgrading Zoom to the latest version. If this isn't helpful, try uninstalling and reinstalling Zoom.
