Zoom Room fails to join Teams meeting

I have followed the instructions from the following guides and am unable to resolve an issue after troubleshooting:

https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360001163206-Joining-a-third-party-meeting-from-a-Zoom-Roo...

https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/203847179

When I send a Teams meeting invite to the room, everything functions as expected. The join button appears with the meeting host and the time displayed on the controller.  The issue is when I click Join, the controller shows the loading screen for MS Teams, and then immediately exits without any error code being displayed. Can anyone offer any guidance on what I may be doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

HI @charlieg

I have same issue when I try to Join MS Teams meeting from domain network. When I connect Zoom Room to external network (Cellular) all works fine. Do you have MS Teams in your organisation? Can you test your Zoom Room with external network?

I am also having this same issue. I get the Join button on the controller, but when I join, it starts MS Teams and just as it is enabling the audio/video, teams shuts down. I am using a Mac Mini running High Sierra for the Zoom Room with an Owl Labs Pro camera/mic/speaker and and iPad Air Gen 4 running the latest iPadOS.  Any ideas what I can do to get this working?  I have no issues with Zoom meetings, Webex, or Google Meet. Just Teams.

We resolved this in our organization.   The issue was the use of Proofpoint.  Hover your mouse over the link in your Teams invite that says 'Click here to join the meeting' and see if you are using proofpoint or any other security tool that changes modifies the teams link for security reasons.   The link should only say 'https://teams.microsoft.com/...' with no modification from security tools.   Check with your internal security team to see if they modify the links in any way.     I don't know if this help anyone else cause there could be many reasons for it not to work, but this was our issue....

I really appreciate the info. Unfortunately, that isn't the issue for us.  We are continuing to try making various changes to try to resolve, but nothing has worked yet.

Any update on this one? Having a similar issue in my organization and would love to hear if anyone has managed to resolve it. Thanks.

I have the same problem, but it seems to only give me trouble with Teams for government meetings. I test with traditional teams meetings and it works just fine. I don't believe it's a firewall issue because we are using a basic Sonicwall firewall. Meetings using the Mobile team client works and using Teams Classic on the PC as well as browser. New Teams fails on the PC and so does Zoom room app running the following versions.

Zoom room app 6.0.0 (4016) , 64bit

Zoom Controller 6.0.0 (2720) (crestron TS-1070)

Zoom room app 5.17.8 (3871)

Zoom Controller 5.17.9 (2688) (crestron TS-1070)

Same here.  The host of the meetings is a Teams government account.  It is not set to accept the third party.  Any other Teams accounts work fine.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help...

Hi there,

To resolve the issue with your Zoom Room not joining a Teams meeting, try these steps:

  1. Update Software:

    • Ensure both Zoom Room and Teams software are updated to the latest versions.
  2. Check Meeting Link:

    • Make sure the Teams meeting link is correctly formatted and not broken.
  3. Enable Third-Party Integration:

    • In Zoom Admin, go to Room Management > Zoom Rooms > Account Settings.
    • Ensure Support 3rd party conferencing dial-in is enabled.
  4. Check Zoom Room Controller:

    • Restart the Zoom Room controller.
    • Re-add the Teams meeting invite to see if the join button functions properly.
  5. Network Configuration:

    • Ensure that ports required for Microsoft Teams and Zoom are open on your network.
  6. Re-Authenticate:

    • Sometimes re-authenticating the Zoom Room with Microsoft Teams can solve the issue. Disconnect and reconnect the integration.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue and successfully join the Teams meeting from your Zoom Room.

It's a clear issue with Teams for Gov so I'm not sure how the items you listed would fix that.

Meetings containing this URL do not work: https://gov.teams.microsoft.us

The only option I think may help is

  • In Zoom Admin, go to Room Management > Zoom Rooms > Account Settings.
  • Ensure Support 3rd party conferencing dial-in is enabled.

This setting does not exist. I have found this setting in account management in Admin:

  • Admin Account management Account Settings.

Allow my organization's 3rd party conference room systems to join my Zoom meetings as an authorized user

This setting is currently toggled off.

It is totally a Teams for Government issue.
