Using software for calls: Do incoming calls 'wake up' a sleeping computer?

I may not have desktop phones, probably won't, so I am wondering if my laptop is asleep and I get an incoming call, does it 'wake up' the computer?

If you have pros and cons for hardware suggestions, are there benefits to have a desktop phone, I would appreciate hearing this -

Hmm, don't know the answer to this, but one can also install Zoom on one's mobile phone to receive calls which might help?

Hi there, Not today if your laptop is asleep. On Windows though, if you have a locked screen, you get notified ( not on Mac )
