On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

How can I stop Zoom stop starting up in edge when I first start the app (Zoom) up? If there is a box for it, I cannot find it. At the present moment, I do not have it starting up automatically with windows (so it's when I click to start it - it is doing this).

Hey @symbiosis, if I am understanding correctly when opening Zoom, Edge the internet browser opens?

I have experienced the opposite as if you were to click on a meeting invitation link; Microsoft Edge, for example, would open and prompt to either open Zoom or you can close the message prompt and join via the web client (in edge).

Looking forward to your reply!

Have you heard about Zoom AI Companion? ➡️ Check it out!

Yes, this is correct.

How do I stop this from happening?  I don't use Edge, I use Chrome, and whenever Zoom launches Edge, it slows my whole PC down.

You should check if in PC Settings / Apps / Default apps :

Chrome should be the default Web browser
Click on "Choose default apps by protocol" and check if Chrome is set as handler for the protocols of FTP, HTTP, HTTPS.
Click on "Choose default apps by file type" (very slow to load) check if Chrome is set as handler for .htm and .html
