screen sharing now keeps prompting for permission (macOS)

This only started in the past week or so. If I am in a meeting and go to share my screen, I cannot share anything until I dismiss a prompt "Allow screen capture in "zoom.us"?" No one can see my screen until then, and that makes sense, except it happens every time. In my macOS system preferences, I already had given zoom permission to access my camera, audio, screen and system audio recording, but there is no separate permission for "screen capture," nor is there any obvious way in the Zoom app to grant permission for this outright to avoid such prompts.

It's a big problem since it causes a delay every time I try to share my screen. Any suggestions?

It’s intrusive and the setting should stick. I’d like to hear from a Dropbox representative about this. I’m sure it’s a security feature. But to be promoted every time is a disruptive and unnecessary

Im having the same issue. but it doesnt just happen for zoom. it happens for other apps that in theory have been granted permission to record screen yet now keep asking permission at every instance. This might be a bigger mac problem. Any help would be appreciated !

Hey, I'm having this same issue on an M1 running macOS Sonoma 14.4 - is this the same macOS version you are on?

cheers,

Dan

Yes 14,4 beta on Intel chip

Yup-I'm on macOS 14.4 (beta 4) on a M2 chip.

The macOS 14.4 beta 4 seems to have fixed this for me, at least so far. YMMV.

Folks, the issue has been fixed in Sonoma. I've not had any such issues now for some time, but it was a huge problem at first.
