Zoom Desktop Client

I have been using Zoom on my desktop for years. I do not initiate meetings; only view meetings at the invitation of others. I have had no problems until about three weeks ago. I try to join a meeting as I always have, but not get the error message telling me I do not have the latest version which must be 5.12.2 or higher. From the Zoom website, I have downloaded version 5.15.7 (20203) 64 Bit installer and have tried to install it, but I still get the same error message. How do I resolve this? I am using an HP desktop with Windows 10 and all updates have been installed. By-the-way, Zoom works fine on my Apple iPad.
