Hello @ARS2!

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.

Yes, it is possible to save meeting transcripts from Zoom calls. Here are the key ways to do this:

During the Meeting

  • Live transcript viewing and saving: You can view live transcripts in the spoken language during the meeting, and these transcripts can be saved or downloaded. The live transcript is available to all invited participants (both internal and external), and you can view it from mobile clients as well. Anyone can start or stop the transcription process.

Through Cloud Recording

  • Automatic transcript generation: When you record a meeting to the cloud, Zoom's AiSense servers can optionally transcribe the meeting and create a transcript file (.vtt format). This transcript is generated as part of the cloud recording workflow and becomes available along with other meeting artifacts like audio (.m4a) and video (.mp4) files.

For AI Companion Feature

  • Retained transcripts for post-meeting use: To access transcripts after meetings for features like post-meeting questions or AI Companion, you must enable the "Allow meeting hosts to retain and access meeting transcripts" setting. This allows the transcript generated by AI Companion features to be retained and used by the host and meeting participants in tools like Zoom Docs and AI Companion 2.0.

Note that hosts can manually delete retained transcripts if needed, and if you're still in a meeting, the host can turn off AI Companion and delete the transcript assets.

Have you heard of Zoom AI Companion?

Hi, Mark, Thank you for the response much appreciate it. My situation aligns with < during the meeting> scenario.

While I am able to  view  live transcripts during the meeting, I am unable to see a save or download option . The window closes when the host ends the meeting.  Could  it be that some specific setting is required to be activated ?   am much obliged for advise on this matter. thanks !

To save live transcripts during a meeting, the Save Captions feature must be enabled. This feature allows participants to save manual or automated captions as a .TXT file locally on their computer. To enable or disable this feature, an account owner or admin must sign in to the Zoom web portal, navigate to Account Management, and then to Account Settings. Under the Meeting tab, find the Save Captions toggle to make the necessary changes. Additionally, there is an option to restrict which participants can save captions.

What are the steps go setup the zoom meeting in order to receive the transcript afterwards.  I have setup a meeting to record to the cloud but I didn't receive the transcript.  Thanks!!

Thanks Mark - I came here to find out more about exactly this feature.

I have all these settings present already.

What catches me out EVERY TIME is that I have to click "Save Transcript" but in a busy day of meetings, my finger is way too eager to click End Meeting so I can join the next one, and I end up losing my transcript. Shouldn't or couldn't this be just auto-saved like meeting recordings? I have to manually start ClosedCaptioning/Transcripts to start them, so much like a meeting recording, I'd expect to be getting a "hard copy" from that simple act of starting them. I don't see a way to turn on any functionality for this, so can this become an enhancement request?

As a frequent Zoom Meetings Host

I need Transcripts to auto-save once activated

So that I don't lose notes from my calls
