USER EXPERIENCING INVALID MEETING ID ON ALL OF HIS SCHEDULED MEETINGS

Hi Guys,

I have one colleague experiencing an "INVALID MEETING ID error" on all of his scheduled meetings.  Does anyone have the same experience? I read some articles and watch some youtube videos on the resolution but they are just telling that the Zoom Application needs to be updated. I tried the resolution but the problem still persist on the following scheduled meeting.

Can anyone help with the final fix for this?

Best,

OtsogaPrime

I'd first recommend that the user log into Zoom.US into the meetings list, and assuming that the meetings are still here, start one from the Start link on the web page.  If the meeting doesn't start then, I'm not sure what to tell you other than to log a Support Ticket: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/requests/new

If the meeting does start, then something has happened to the meeting URL that was sent out.  Only a couple of scenarios come to mind:

  1. I've seen multiple instances where a Zoom user has mangled up the URL somehow, either by sending only a partial URL, accidentally typing into the middle of it, or one user did a "find and replace" function that also changed part of a link.
  2. The organization may have recently created a "vanity" URL through Zoom, such as mycompany.zoom.us, but the original links sent out used the generic us02web.zoom.us domain.  Any links send out might need to be updated to the ones in the current Meeting invitation.
  3. User's account was canceled by the admin.  Rare, but happens... but then he shouldn't be able to get into his account. 😎

1. Verify the Meeting ID
The number one reason you are likely to have issues joining a Zoom meeting is the wrong meeting ID. Rather than typing the meeting ID into the entry bar character by character, it's best to copy it from the invitation and paste it directly into the bar. That way, you can avoid any mistakes.

If you are still seeing the error after doing this, then contact the host to check if you are getting the correct meeting ID and if the meeting is still in progress.

2. Check Internet Connection
You need a strong and active internet connection to join a zoom meeting. Try to access other apps on your device to detect the problem with your network. Opening a single web page in your browser is enough to determine if your connection is the problem.

You can place the router near you to improve your network strength or restart it. If this does not work, you might have to switch to another network.

3. Update the Zoom App
Invalid meeting ID errors can occur due to an outdated version of the Zoom app. But before attempting to update the app, you can log out and relaunch Zoom to see if it helps. If it doesn't, you can proceed to update and install the latest version.

I have similar issue but only when creating meetings using Google Calendar with Zoom plugin.  I'm curious when you are encountering the error?  What hardware you are using?  And any other information you can provide.

We've been having the same issue. It only started recently (within the last month) and affects links created via the Zoom Workplace app and posted/shared to Google Calendar. Clients joining have said they're getting invalid link messages when they go to log on at the time of the meeting. We haven't changed anything settings wise recently, as far as I'm aware, and are scheduling meetings in exactly the same way we always have, so the links and their IDs are exactly as they were created by Zoom.

Our workaround has been to literally just start a new meeting and send it out the invitation via email. No need to schedule because we're all already there, waiting to connect. The new link works without our clients or us having to update any software. So it's not affecting all links/meeting IDs, just scheduled ones.

@TheITguy78I'd be curious to see if this also describes your problem, or if this is a different but similar one.

Hello @Frostline,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.

Kindly update your app and plugin to the latest version, reconnect the plugin, and make sure it is to the correct account.

Let us know if this works or if you need further assistance.

Have you heard of Zoom AI Companion?

We noticed that if we create no fixed time meetings on the web portal, but schedule them in Outlook, they meeting changes from a no fixed time meeting to a scheduled meeting based on the time scheduled in outlook.  It has caused many invalid meeting ID issues.

We have the same issue with one licensed user in our business account.    His meetings say "invalid meeting ID for him and everyone who tries to join.   We updated the app and the plug in for outlook on Friday and it seemed it was working.  One meeting today gave the error and 2 others have worked fine.   All created by him.   Very frustrating.  I am going to clear the cache in the Zoom app data folder on his computer when he has a break today.

Hey there! I am having the same issue and missed a critical call- to note, all my meetings across the board give me that invalid meeting ID.

Was there a recent update that could of caused this issue? Or would it be my setup?

Update: @dawnsmith @TheITguy78 from my testing -- this seems to be a mix between a Gcal and a Zoom caching issue

Please delete all of your cookies (inspect element on your gcal calendar, then delete cookies under application). It has worked for me now!

Had the same issue. Deleted cookies and cache in my web browser and it fixed the issue!
