My video box is ticked to turn off video when joining meetings automatically. I cannot untick it.

Can you send a screenshot? I believe there is an admin setting for the host where you can turn video on but the remote side should still be able to control this feature.

Are you an admin on the laptop ? If this is a company laptop/device they might've restricted some of the features you can enable/disable.
