Remote Control

When a colleague shares their screen and give me remote control, I can only control the window that's being shared. I can't see the new window that opens when I open an email for example. Is this possible or is it only possible to view the window that's being shared?

Thanks

Are they sharing their entire screen or just that application window? If they are sharing their entire screen, you should be able to see everything.

They were just sharing one window... But they also reckon they've done it before and it worked the way they had done it. But that was my first thought too
