"Request Remote Control" button is missing. I've reinstalled the software. Checked the settings and it's set properly.

How do I do gain the ability to request remote control?

Hi @CANDERSON13

There might be a few reasons for this scenario:

  • The ability to request remote control depends on the host's permissions. If you're a participant in a meeting and the host hasn't enabled screen sharing with annotation or remote control for participants, the button won't be available for you.
  • It's possible your Zoom account or group has restrictions set on remote control at the account or group level. This would override any settings you have on your individual Zoom client.

You can also try referring the below help article for reference:

Thank you very much and have a great one!

Thanks! All set now, button is there.

Hi 🙂 What did you do to get the button back? I was forced to do a download and now I have Zoom workplace and I can't find the Remote Control button.

One thing I learned is that the Remote button only shows up if someone else is sharing their screen, otherwise it doesn't appear.

I don't understand how that could be. Sometimes Zoom gives me the remote control and sometimes it does not. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. But my students don't share their screens, so when I've used it, it's been unrelated to whether or not they share their own screen.

ONLY after the host starts sharing the screen or window by pressing the green "share' button and choosing the target content, the remote control button  shows up.

I am suffering from the very same problem(

Look for the button only once someone else is sharing their screen. That's the only time i see it show up.

Following. Since upgrade I can not find the remote control access

ONLY after the host starts sharing the screen or window by pressing the green "share' button and choosing the target content, the remote control button  shows up on the top.
