The following issue appeared till now during 3 or 4 meetings. About 40 participants were in the meeting. Beginning was fine without issues. Discussions were ongoing for about 40min again without issues. The participants switched the microphones on and off as soon as they took part in the discussion. After 40 minutes, some participants could suddenly no longer be heard, or could only be heard with a few words, despite the microphone being switched on. The problem extended to almost all participants. A few, on the other hand, could still be heard without any problems. Internet connection was very good all the time for all participants and the videos of the participants had no quality loss at all.
The meeting is a jour-fix, always with the same access data for about 1.5 years. Participants use all kind of hardware (tablets, windows computers and mac‘s).
What could be the issue and how can we solve it?

Hello there,
The issue could be lots of things but I would start with only have people unmute when they need to talk. Meetings that size can have issues with "gating" (when audio levels are lowered to try and balance out other speakers or sounds)
Hopefully this helps.
