How Can I Disable My Own Avatar?

I set a Virtual Avatar and now I want to disable it.  It's annoying that it shows in every meeting I join or host.  I have to right-click on myself in the gallery and uncheck Avatar.  I just want my picture back.  How can I delete or disable it permanently?

Try disabling auto-starting video.

  1. Goto Settings -> Video
  2. Check the box "Stop my video when joining a meeting"

In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings. Click the Meeting tab. Under In Meeting (Advanced), click the Avatars toggle to enable or disable it.

Thanks but I do not see an Account Management heading.  I actually found a way to do it from within a meeting.  I clicked on the ... button by my name and opened the avatar menu then unchecked the option.  That did the trick.

In settings --> Background&Effects, click "Avatars", click "None"

This was super annoying!... you need to go into: Settings > Background & Effects > Avatars Tab > Uncheck the "Turn on my avatar when I join a meeting" setting.

The avatar option sucks so, so bad. Cannot turn it off. Have to hide it in each meeting. Sucks!!

It seems they have broken the function to disable it. My 'Avatar' Tab is greyed out but it is showing my previous Avatar when I join meetings. I can't even disable it now because I can't choose 'None' in the Avatar tab...

I did everything everyone here said and nothing worked, so I deleted the Zoom app off my iPad and reinstalled it and it finally took my avatar off.
