If an invite is sent with a basic license, and the user is later assigned a full license, will the previously scheduled meeting use the full license, or the basic one? Just wondering if they need to generate a new meeting invite.

They don't need to generate a new meeting invite. If he upgraded from basic to a licensed user before the meeting schedule, his meeting utilizes the license and will not be subjected to a 40-minute limit. I hope I was able to answer your question.
