On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

After updating Zoom Workspace I can't record a meeting on a chromebook

I have always been able to record meetings on Zoom on my chrome book but when I click on record now it opens the recording window and I can't record.  I used to press record and it would record straight away.

It only stopped working this week when I did an update for Zoom Workplace.

Hello @Natty8,

Welcome to the Zoom Community! We're glad to have you here.

May I know if you are trying to record locally or to the cloud and if you are getting any error messages?

I just doubled checked again and can now record on the chrome book if saving to the cloud. Just comes up when I save to chrome book itself.

I'm glad that the cloud recording is working. If you are unable to record locally, there might be a few reasons; one is if you are not the host. Only the host can record a Zoom meeting by default. You can ask the host to grant you permission to record or ask to be made an alternative host. Two, the recording location you've chosen may be invalid. Three You can also check if the local recording is disabled by signing in to the Zoom web. Click Settings > Click the Recording tab > Click the Record to computer files toggle to enable it.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.
