On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Recording & reading offline/outside

Hi! Can I record my own pitch with Zoom on my laptop outside in a parc/public area, while being offline?

I can't use my (S-Flip) smartphone because I want to read a Word document simultaniously (video app switches off when I read doc).

Thanks!

@Peter2Meter great question! Unfortunately no, starting a meeting to record does require the internet.

You could always record with some other software/solution (OBS, some type of webcam recorder, etc...) and then share it in a Zoom meeting/webinar once you get back to internet to create the cloud recording that can then be shared.

Curious to see if anyone else has a good solution for this! I'll keep an eye out

Good luck with your pitch!
