On April 16, between 2:25 P.M. ET and 4:12 P.M. ET, the domain zoom.us was not available due to a server block by GoDaddy Registry. This block was the result of a communication error between Zoom’s domain registrar, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy Registry, which resulted in GoDaddy Registry mistakenly shutting down zoom.us domain. Zoom, Markmonitor, and GoDaddy worked quickly to identify and remove the block, which restored service to the domain zoom.us. There was no product, security or network failure at Zoom during the outage. GoDaddy and Markmonitor are working together to prevent this from happening again.

Convert Webinar to Event question

Hello! I have a webinar I want to convert to an event. I found this documentation (https://support.zoom.com/hc/en/article?id=zm_kb&sysparm_article=KB0057859#h_01ERMZYTJQY65E4J3PEAV4M5...) but I have some additional clarifying questions:

1. I currently am registering people for the webinar via API/Zapier. Once I convert this webinar to an event, will my API still be able to register people to the webinar as it is currently, or will that be broken?

2. Going forward, is there a way to just create the event from the start and register people via Zapier? Or do I just have to create the webinar and convert it to an event?

3. The recording of the webinar/event: If I am accessing that via the API/Zapier, will that be under the webinar ID or will it be under a new ID connected to the event?

Thank you!

hi @mackensie ,

So many questions, let me try and follow through.
yes you can convert a meeting to a webinar and either to an event.
People will become attendees and the old meeting id will still connect to the new event id.
I am assuming the event will just have one session. or at least that is what the conversion will give you.
Attendees to meetings, webinars and events are different, so i am not sure zapier can send people to events.

However, you should look at events because the registration process is far more powerful and you may not need to use zapier any more.
You also have the ability to upload attendees by csv and then let zoom events send out emails for you.
The ID is the same as said earlier, but not sure how zapier deals with recordings.
Hope that helps. Looks like i also need to have a look at what features zapier now has for Zoom events.
all the best

John
