Content and format are incorrect in the zoom AI recording next step

When I recorded a meeting to the cloud, it will generate the summary and next step based on the meeting content, but I found the next step is incorrect for one meeting. I didn’t say anything in one recording, but it show several next step.

And the second case is that there is no full stop in the next step, and usually they have the full stop.

Hi @Eve_Xing  - Hope you're doing well.

It sounds like you’re referring to the AI Companion meeting summary and next steps that Zoom automatically generates when a meeting is recorded to the cloud. Based on how this feature works, here’s what likely happened in your two cases:

1. Incorrect “Next Steps” Even When You Didn’t Speak

The AI Companion analyzes the entire meeting transcript — not just your own speech — to infer action items or next steps.
If other participants spoke, or if background conversation or noise was transcribed as text, the AI may have interpreted those as actionable statements. Even silence or filler words can sometimes be misread as incomplete sentences, leading to false “next steps.”

What you can do:

  • Review the meeting transcript in the cloud recording to see what text the AI used to generate those steps.
  • If the transcript contains misheard phrases, you can delete or edit the summary manually in the Zoom web portal.
  • For more accurate results, ensure clear audio and minimize background noise during meetings.

    2. Missing Full Stops (Periods) in “Next Steps”

Normally, AI Companion formats each next step as a complete sentence ending with a period.
If punctuation is missing, it’s usually due to:

    • The AI detecting an incomplete phrase (e.g., “Follow up with client tomorrow” instead of “Follow up with the client tomorrow.”)
    • Transcription errors or language model updates that slightly alter formatting.
    • The meeting containing short or fragmented speech, which the AI interprets as bullet-style notes rather than full sentences.

      How to fix or improve:

      • You can edit the summary directly in the meeting summary view.
      • If this happens frequently, report it through the “Feedback” option in the summary window — this helps Zoom refine the AI model.
      • Make sure the meeting language setting matches the spoken language to improve punctuation accuracy.

Hope this helps and have a great rest of your day!
