AI Companion Meeting Summary from Calendar

When I return to a meeting on Zoom app calendar, I have the option to 'summarise the meeting' and ask 'what was discussed in the meeting' etc via the AI companion. But sometimes it says I do not have permission.

"Sorry, I cannot answer your question because you don't have the permission to access either the meeting transcript or the meeting summary."

It works on some meetings, and I am an admin and I have looked at all the permissions and cannot see anything obvious.

Any ideas?

Hey @Gaz_Marsen! This error pops up when you don’t have permission to view the meeting transcript or summary. It could be because:

  • You’re not part of the organization that hosted the meeting.
  • The host has set it up so only certain people can access it.
  • The sharing settings are limited to just the host or a few selected participants.
  • Your role settings haven’t been given the necessary permissions.

In a nutshell, it’s just a security measure to keep sensitive meeting content safe from unauthorized access.

Hello,

Thanks for the reponse. The above suggestions are not the issue. However, I have noticed it happens on meetings which are 'recurring meetings' (repeat monthly in my calendar but the same invite).

Does it make sense that the AI companion does not work for these?

Thank you for pointing that out! I did some tests and it appears to work even on recurring meetings. But, when I tried having another person host the recurring meeting with their AI Companion settings set to only share with Meeting Host + Meeting Host & Co-Host I got the same error message. Could this be the case with you?

Thanks for the update.

I suspect this is not the issue though as I am the host of these recurring meetings.

Thank you for clarifying! It's probably something else then. Could you submit a support ticket so we can take a closer look at it? Thanks!
