Zoom Cloud Recording as Co-host not found

Andrewneedshelp
Listener

I need some help! I cannot find the cloud recording of a meeting which I recorded as co-host. I closed my computer (folded shut) before ending the recording (which caused me to leave the meeting). After waiting 24 hours, the recording has still not shown up.

Where might the recording have gone?

Cloud recordings always end up in the account of the meeting owner, the person who scheduled the meeting (usually the Host, but not always).

Contact the meeting organizer for access to the recording.

Would this also be the case if I was cohost and I recorded to desktop?

No, local recordings always end up on the device used by the attendee who initiated the local recording - regardless of whether they were Host, Cohost, or just a participant. See the Settings window, Recording tab for the location of recordings.

Hi,

So there's no point recording on the Cloud if you're co-hosting?

It's impossible to retrieve that way on the co-host account?

The recommendation would be to record locally, then?

Thank you,

Xavier

Hey, @XavPer,

I wouldn’t say “no point” – meetings belong  to the host, and recordings belong to the meeting … neither of which belong to a cohost.

If your purpose is to have your own recording, record locally. If your purpose is to have clean video (separate speaker, gallery, share screen views) for post-event editing, record to the cloud and ask the host to give you access to view/download. Not that difficult, if you’re working with/for the host.
