Using and saving breakout room chats

We need a way to save breakout room chats and a way for breakout room participants to contact a person in the meeting but not in their room (who ideally isn't the host).

We work in suicide prevention and have someone available for one on one counselling and support if the breakout room discussions get intense. We also need to compile chat conversations from breakout rooms for facilitation purposes.

Thanks for helping us figure this out.

Hi @ElissaA

Unfortunately, the only way to ask for assistance in a breakout room (Ask for Help) only alerts the host to the request. I just tested to see if it would also alert a co-host, but it did not. Perhaps the host could be alerted with this function, and the host could instruct someone appropriate to join the breakout room in question.

As for breakout room chats, those must be manually saved while in the breakout room itself. Perhaps the leader of the discussion in each breakout room could manually save the chat when the host has indicated the breakouts will close.

Hope that helps, but let me know if you have any further questions!
