No gallery view when sharing an application

We've lost the ability to use gallery view while sharing an application. You can only see the floating thumbnail view. That means I can't see if someone other than the speaker is trying to get my attention. Plus, if someone's dog barks, the thumbnail changes.

Zoom acknowledges that this is the way it's supposed to work. Their suggested workaround is to share my entire screen. That's unacceptable for any of a number of reasons, but basically it means that I can't open any windows that I don't want the attendees to see: sensitive information, reference material, general screen clutter, more.

Am I the only one who thinks this is unacceptable?

I have no gallery view on my oauth and sdk integrations and I can’t seem to find a solution for this.
